Found in China, built in the UK

Powerbank rental barely existed in the UK. The hardware was proven and the manufacturers were reachable, but nobody at home had built a serious operation around it.

I went out to China, met the factory and negotiated supply direct. What came back was not a product to resell. It was the makings of a business: the brand, the supply chain, the first venues signed, and stations live inside them.

The company still runs on that split. A partner owns venue acquisition and the ground work. I own the system underneath it.

Oracle, the system that runs it

Every operator on this hardware gets the same deep API and the same thin tooling above it. Most of them run the business out of spreadsheets and vendor tabs. I built the layer instead: one operator's view of every station, every rental and every venue, in one place.

Predictive replenishment

Rental history and station spread forecast when a kiosk will run dry. At half stock a replenishment dispatches on its own, tracked, and the venue is told before they think to ask. Nobody watches a dashboard for this.

Demand is not flat across a day or a week. Tiers are tuned to the usage the network actually sees and pushed out to every station on a schedule. The factory software cannot price this way, so competitors running identical hardware cannot answer it.

Pricing tiers, replenishment timing and which venues are worth signing all read the same rental history. Good sites and bad sites separate on evidence rather than instinct.

Over 100 stations across the UK and more than 100,000 rental hours. Replenishment dispatches itself, pricing tunes itself and venues are paid on time, because the operation was built to carry all of that without anyone chasing it.

That is the difference between a business with a hundred machines in it and a business that can take the next hundred. Oracle is now being productised as the operating layer for other powerbank operators, which turns the software from overhead into an asset of its own.
